WOW!!! I'm so sorry!!!

Ok ya'all I am so sorry for not posting for quite some time. However I do have good reason. I was bit at work by a Brown Recluse spider while I was at work and have been down for 3 weeks. I ended up having a good size piece of my leg taken out and have been in a lot of pain since. It is healing nicely at the moment. I am ever so fortunate that I work at a pediatrics office and have been under the best care. I miss all my girls and the Dr. I work for.

Well needless to say I have been stranded to the house and was able to do quite a few projects. I am going to be posting more regularly now that I have "caught up" on projects and such. The projects include: Disney 2009 (that was a lot to do), a home made scarf, a dolly or (mama piggy) blanket, and some cards.

The Blanket was a birthday gift for my besti's daughter. She turned 4 and got spoiled rotten by her family with toys. I figured instead of a toy make her stuffed princess pig (mama piggy) a blanket so she isn't cold. I was very surprised on how fast I was able to get it done... might think to bust out a few of these just to keep on hand.

The scarf I was able to do on my trip back home to California. I worked on it during take off and landing for each flight then was able to finish it off once back home. It reminds me of Neapolitan Ice cream. This was all before the giant hole in my leg of corse.

These are a bunch of cards I made while stranded in my room. Some are birthday, some are just because, and a few I left blank. It's always good to have them on hand for use and/or to sell. They didn't take me long to make and most of the stuff used was scraps I had on hand and was able to reach from my bed haha.

This is a box I made for a friend at work. She LOVES pigs and so i surprised her one day with it. She was so happy when I brought it in for her I thought she was going to pee her pants!!! It was real simple and real easy to make!

Got into the Christmas Spirit the other night and made all of my Christmas Cards for this year!

Please bear with me as I get back into the swing of things!!!!

So these are a few of the mother's day cards I have made for this year. They were so simple and real quick to make too. I'm really proud on how they turned out. I am really getting into the card making thing. Debating on starting my own little online store to sale like anytime cards and layouts and such. Don't know yet though still debating on that. Will post mother's day gifts after mother's day of coarse!!!!

Scrap Pages that I have done

Here are some layouts that I have done. I have them posted on Facebook and scrapbook.com and have been meaning to post them here. I love scrapping it is so much fun and love taking classes to teach me new things! Anyways here are some pages and a little about each page! I will try and post more pictures soon of more work that I have done however i must have deleted them off of my camera (doesn't surprise me I re-pail technology).

This is from the great movie ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios. I am a huge Wizard of Oz FREAK!!! You can only imagine my excitement when this part came up on the ride...God bless my husband.

These two were from the stingray's hockey game. It was just a few days before St. Patty's day so they died the ice green. It was way totally cool. They also had colored beer as well. Super fun because they won their game that day!! GO RAYS!

Ok sorry its sideways still trying to figure that out here on the blog thingy. Any who this is my dads fathers day gift. For anyone who knows me they know that I am always trying to get them to cry. Let me clarify, by cry I mean mushy happy tears. I think I will accomplish this but we shall see. The wording is from Butterfly Kisses which is the song that we danced to. Then on the other page is a little note that says i love you daddy.

Birthday Card

Ok so i made this card tonight and im pretty proud of it. It's for my little sister who is a teenybopper. I thought this was a great way to make it not so child-like and more Mylie Cyruss and Johnas Brothers (BLAH!)I miss her dearly and I know she will TOTALLY love it! Surprisingly it wasn't very difficult to put together and it took no time at all. I used some fabric from a sewing project im working on, some scrap paper and some random flowers, ribbon, brads, and beads to tie it all together. I really like the pink and black contrast especially for her age. Well time for bed! hope you all enjoy!

Lots of Projects

So it's been a while since I have updated so I figured while I had the time then I might as well do so. I have a TONS of projects that i'm working right now. I have an afghan, aprons to be sewn, 2 BIG scrapping projects, a few more scarfs, my garden, a cross stitch, and pj bottoms. I love crafts and home made things but I think i'm really in the hole this time. I really need to start being motivated again BLAH!

Any ways I however was able to make 2 scarfs during my absentness. One is for my mom and the other is for my step-mom. Thought they would love having something home made from me cuz they are tight like that. Oh and I have the niftiest thing EVER! I have little tags that I can sew on all my work that are personalized!!!!:)

Well time to go to the River Dogs game with my sister in law. Super excited for that. Sorry for the short blog, will post more pictures soon!!

Afghan #1

So I have recently started attempt number 2 on crocheting. Queenie tried to teach me years ago and i remember picking it up but then got to busy with other things. My MIL retaught me and no I think I got it. This is my first project that I did. It took me about 2 1/2 months to finish but thats what happens when you have a slightly busy life. I'm totally proud of myself on this one because I think it turned out absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! It's big enough for 2 people to snuggle under and keep warm. I loved the way the colors flowed on the skein of yarn and turns out I was right it it did make a pretty square! Well hope you all enjoy!

Flower Class

Yesterday my MIL (mummy in love) and I took a Flower making class at our favorite scrapping place. The owner's classes are TOTALLY AMAZING!!! For 25$ she provides all the "paper products" used in class so all you need to bring are the tools needed, and if you don't have them she has them for sale at her shop or she will let you barrow hers to see if you like it or not. NOT TO MENTION the fact that you learn so much in each class!! Yesterday we learned to make 5 different types of flowers. We made 3 of each flower and made a set of them into a card! Now I know how to make any color flower to fit into any page!

This is the card we made. The flowers on it are called lollipop flowers. Really easy and really simple to make too and isn't it just the cutest thing ever!! All we had to do was "distress" the edges of the circles and the white back ground. Then notch the grass and glue it all together. Add a jewlie or a Brad or anything else to dazzle it up!

These are the Carnations/Marigolds that we made. Another so super simple flower. Just cut out layers of edged circles, spray with water and crumple them up. Let them dry that way and a little bit of layering and a hidden Brad and some maneuvering and you have yourself one of the sweetest flowers out there! It's a good flower to use for scrapping, card making, box making, or even shadow box making. The best part is that you can use almost any paper and get a different color affect every time you do this. Not to mention you get to play with a bit of water, thats always FUN!! Make sure to use your splat mat!!! Coolest thing ever invented!

These beautiful roses weren't as easy as the other flowers were but they sure are elegant! They would go great with a wedding card or a garden page or any other reason you can think of to use them. Trust me they are that pretty! Especially when you spray them with a little bit of pearl shimmer on the peddles and chalk the tips with pink distresser ink! It's always little things like that that add just the right touch to make a finished project that you love!

Aren't these little rosettes too cute for their own good?? These weren't as hard as some of the other ladies in class thought. They fit perfectly with a scrap book layout, or a card, or many other things you can think of! They use a lot of glue but when they are dry you just bend back the edges and chalk them with a dark brown chalk and you have yourself a little flower that might just be the thing you are looking for to fill in that one little hole.

Can you believe your eyes? These flowers were made out of coffee filters!! Who'da thunk that with a coffee filter, some glimmer mist and a Brad you can create such a breath taking flower. But be careful for they are fragile! Too much of the crumpling portion of this flower, you could easily rip it. Although it is always interesting to see what colors you can change your hands when you are playing in the color. It's like playing with liquid play dough!

Needless to say this class was awesome and like always well worth the money!!! Can't wait to take another!!

First post and Introductions

This will be my first venture into blogging. I'm Devin and after some convincing and encouragement from my friends, I've decided that I have something to blog about that would be fun and a great outlet for my hobbies.

After having picked up scrap booking, all my other crafts which include crocheting, cross stitching, sewing, gardening, as well as creating my own gifts, I've been highly encouraged to share my little bit of talent with the internet. With great comments pouring in from my facebook friends as well as from when I post the pictures to scrapbook.com, I'm set up this blog to bring it to you.

Plenty of pictures will be posted, and there will be posts about stuff I learn along the way from books, classes, and other sites on the internet. I just hope to have fun while posting and sharing with everyone out here.

Take care and I'll see you again in my next post
